Last updated: 16 June 2026
This policy explains how Deck Hero (ABN 78 602 566 811) (we, us, our) collects, uses, holds and protects your personal information when you visit https://deckhero.com.au, contact us, or use our services. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
By using this website or contacting us, you agree to the handling of your information as set out below.
What we collect
We only collect information we genuinely need to help you. That is:
- Information you give us. When you fill in our enquiry form, email or call us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, suburb, the service you are after, and anything you tell us about your project.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and analytics tools record technical details such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and how you reached the site. This is used to understand traffic and improve the site.
- Cookies and similar tracking. We use cookies and tags for analytics and advertising. See Cookies and tracking below.
We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we do not collect sensitive information (such as health or financial details) through this website.
How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and provide a quote;
- carry out, manage and follow up on the work you ask us to do;
- keep records, send invoices and meet our legal obligations;
- improve our website, services and the way we communicate; and
- measure the performance of our advertising and show relevant ads (see below).
We will not sell your personal information, and we will not use it for unrelated purposes without telling you first.
Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them, along with tags and pixels, to see how the site is used and to make our advertising work. The tools we use are:
- Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager: to measure visits and understand how people use the site.
- Google Ads: to measure ad conversions and to show our ads to people who have visited the site (remarketing). Where you submit an enquiry, we may share a hashed (irreversible) version of your email or phone number with Google to measure conversions more accurately. This data is encoded before it leaves your browser and cannot be read by us or Google as plain text.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram): to measure ad performance and show relevant ads on Meta platforms.
You can control or switch off this tracking at any time:
- Adjust or block cookies in your browser settings (this may affect how some sites work).
- Manage Google ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com and opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out add-on.
- Manage Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
Who we share it with
We keep your information to ourselves and only share it where needed to run our business or where the law requires it. This includes trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:
- HubSpot: our customer relationship and enquiry management system, which receives the details you submit through the contact form.
- Google and Meta: for the analytics and advertising described above.
- Cloudflare: which hosts and delivers this website.
- Subcontractors and tradespeople we work with, only where needed to carry out your job.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with the sale of our business.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers (including Google, Meta, HubSpot and Cloudflare) are based overseas or store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. By using this site and submitting your details, you consent to your information being handled in those locations. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers that protect your information.
How we store and protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including through secure systems and access controls with our providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work hard to keep your information safe.
We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law (for example, tax and business records), after which we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
Accessing and correcting your information
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. Just get in touch using the details below and we will help. There is no charge to ask, and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Making a complaint
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
