How it works
Save the structure, renew the surface
We start by reading the deck: which boards are worth keeping, where a fixing has let go, whether the substructure is still sound. Most of the time the frame is fine and it is the surface that has weathered, which is good news for your budget.
From there it is a sand back to fresh timber, repairs and re-fixing where needed, and a colour-matched oil or stain that lifts the grain and protects it from sun and water. You get the deck you remember, ready to use again.

The difference
Why a sand back beats a quick re-coat
Oiling straight over a grey, weathered deck looks good for a few weeks and then lets go, because the finish has nothing fresh to grip. Taking the surface back to clean timber first is what makes the new finish last, and it is the part most worth doing properly.
